Learn How to Make Any Gift (Even the One’s You Don’t Like) Work for Someone!
Think of all the junk you’ve received (and given). Don’t you wish there was a better way? Well, there is a better way my friend The answer is Gift Baskets.
In this day and age we’re lucky if we get a fruit cake, don’t count on getting gift baskets. That’s the reason for my gift to you.
Anyone has been given a gift that is simply horrible. You can donate it to a worthy cause, or post it on www.freecycle.com where everything donated is free to users. You might hide the unwanted gift in a box where you will hopefully never run into it again. Whatever you do please do not throw the gift away.
Then, there is re-gifting, a risky and often unsavory practice. Re-gifting is never a acceptable custom. Most importantly if the person that gave you the gift finds out. There are numerous ways to put the gift to use, without the uncomfortable and deliberate re-wrapping and passing along.
1. Create a “Treasure Box.” I use a large tote. Make sure that you put a post-it note on the item, and secure it with tape telling whom the item is from.
2. Place gifts that are of no use to you in the treasure chest.
3. It is wise to categorize all the items and place them together.
4. To give a “re-gifted” treasure, make sure you have at least 3 similar items. For example favorite films. Take the movies, wrap them individually, and put them in a large popcorn bowl. Include candies, chocolate, or whatever else you want to make the gift go further. If you are giving the DVDs to an adult or family, put in a homemade gift certificate for one night of free babysitting (if they have kids). The goal is to avoid spending too much, but make a nice gift. Make sure that you are not giving the gift back to the person that gave it to you.
Now those not so zesty or duplicategifts you have acquired don’t need to go to waste.
We all want to make our gift giving a little easier, so might I suggest you head on over to Nectar of Life’s Coffee Gift Baskets page and have a look around? They have plenty of them at Nectar of Life Coffee.
