Holidays in Britain on the rise again
With swing flu kicking off in Mexico and the recession forcing us to think about where we go on holiday, it seems that going abroad is being held off on by us Brits this year. More and more families want to save their money but still need a holiday, so they are turning to the UK to go on holiday. Theres nothing wrong with this, and the holiday can be just as fun as going abroad. Sure, theres not the added excitement of going to a foreign country, but then theres you also alot you dont have to deal when it comes to going abroad.
Cancelled flights, getting your passport renewed, getting any shots that you need to -all downsides to holidays abroad. So what fun can be had on your holiday in the UK? Holiday camps such as Butlins and Pontins are having thier best turn outs for along time, as more people cant afford to go abroad. If that doesnt appeal to you theres always a boating holiday, which isnt as boring as you think? A friend of mine suggested that a group of us hire a boat and go all through the locks visitng pubs -a pub crawl via boat if you will, a new kind of ‘lads holiday’ if you will. Renting a cottage in the countryside can also prove a very relaxing break to escape the pressures of the city, with less people and less traffic, giving us the chance to slow down and relax for a week or two.
For those who do want the party atmosphere there’s always Newport, with its nightlife and sun, sea and sand. Remember: It is possible to have a fun holiday down here in the UK.
