The Maldives Deliver Luxury Holidays
The Maldives – it’s a name that conjures up the image of luxury holidays. Some may know the name, but are unsure of where they actually are, other than this side of paradise! The Maldives nestle in the Indian Ocean, made up of 1,190 islands clustered together in 26 main sheltered atolls of which only 199 are inhabited.

Iru Fushi, with its unspoilt landscape and virgin waters, offers fabulous diving for beginners and the more experienced and diving here is relatively easy compared to other atolls because of the wide channels, shallow depths and gentle currents. The House Reef at Iru Fushi is located near the diving school and gently slopes down 18 metres to a sandy bottom. Covered with sponges and corals and teeming with neon coloured reef fish, it provides the perfect setting for beginners to experience a breathtaking first dive.
Other dive sites nearby include the weirdly named Snow White.This offers a kaleidoscope of colourful and beautiful reefs with red berry sponges and a snow white sandy bottom. Another intriguingly named site is the Christmas Tree, located north-west of the island and so-called because the profile of the reef looks like a Christmas tree. Even if you don’t feel that energetic, there’s still lots to do in the Maldives, assuming you consider llounging around and simply relaxing as you’ve never relaxed before to be doing something!
